I want to do screengrabbing to be able to capture what happens during a PC online video game. Any freeware out there that will let you do this?

The free version of Fraps (http://www.fraps.com/ ) lets you record any application that uses DirectX or OpenGL (basically all major games) for up to 30 seconds, the paid version can record unlimitedly (only limited by harddisk space). Be aware though, that most if not all screen capturing device produces a very large video files, so large that some media player wouldn't be able to play it without getting chopped.

You'll need to reencode the file, if you want to distribute the video (to reduce size) and to make the playback smoother.

Bandicam is worth checking out. However, the free version will give you a 10 minute recording limit.
