I honestly believe that they have more of a confidence issue and that is how they deal with it. To make someone else look bad in their eyes, makes them seem better (only to themselves). Snobbs do not realize how much of life they are missing. I just laugh at them because really by letting every into my life, I am a richer person for it.

Questions like yours, define my opinions on high school. I will never understand it when a grown adult says that high school was the best time in their life. Wasn't for me.
Why are some people snobs? Hard to give a definitive answer. Some possible reasons?
Their parents are snobs and they are only spewing what is taught to them
Their "self-worth" is very, very low and the only way to make themselves feel better (and trust me, they feel like failures most of the time, contrary to the way they act) is by bringing others down
Or maybe, they are just that all too common breed of person that only values themselves and doesn't even realize that their rude and hurtful comments ARE rude and hurtful.
TRUST ME when I tell you this, for MANY people, junior & high school are NOT the "best times of their lives". Most of us grow up, take on life head first, and then experience our "best times". I had a few good times in school, but all my best times have been as an adult.
My advice to you: ignore them. KNOW that someday the bad karma they are creating will come back and bite them in the butt, KNOW that you are mature and intelligent and are too smart to judge people based on what they own, or who their parents are.
Also, know that, you will go through life blessed to learn from interesting and varied people whom you spent time with because you do not hold these skewed life views. Know that you can't change anyone, you can only change the way you react to them. Know that no matter their appearance and things they own, they will never be truly happy unless they learn that life is not about the brand shoes you wear.
Good luck to you, sooner than you think, you will be looking back on your feelings today, and realize that YOU my dear, are the lucky one.

I honestly think it has a lot to do with the way people are raised and those they surround themselves with. If people are brought up in a family that thinks they are better than others, chances are the children will think the same and act that way in school. Also, peer groups can have such an influence on people, that I think sometimes people just act that way to 'fit in.'
I have been friends with lots of snobby people, but I have also always tried to maintain my own individuality and not act better than others. I figure that people who act that way will get what they deserve at some point in their life.

Miley, from my expericence, people that acks snobby to others have a personally deficiency and is hiding things in their own lives, better known as a lack in maturity. Life catches up with them but not always where we can be there to witness it, which is good.

They place themselves on a pedastal since nobody else will. They simply want to be above and beyond their situation. They want to get their lives moving faster than everybody elses and if they see someone as below them then they won't even want to look at them. There were plenty of snobby b itches in my school.I used to say hi to them at times only to get a stone cold gaze or sometimes they wouldn't even look in my direction!I moved on with my life and unfortunately for them they're still stuck where they left off.
