What happens if you file your taxes electronically and you accidently send the wrong return(s)? If I get audited what should I do?

You call the IRS and correct your mistake...you may refile your return with the correct information...don't wait to be audited...IRS personnels are helpful they will tell you fill some papers are probably refile...if u wait...u will be screwed..

At this point you should file an amended return using form 1040X to correct the filing. Don't ever wait to get audited.

Any time you have filed a return with a known error, you should file an Amended return. You will have to file it via mail. No big deal. You can down load the forms at IRS.gov
