I know this is a minority of fans but certain SEC fans amaze me at their homerism. You hear SEC fans saying things like this years Ohio State could never go undefeated in the SEC. That is just absurd Ohio State is a better team than any team in the SEC. I also hear how USC would not win in the SEC despite the fact that every year they beat SEC teams and in games that are not even close. So how come certain SEC fans can't deal in reality.

Ohio State is simply the best team in the nation until they lose to
some other team. These fans are absurd. USC whipped the
2nd highest ranked team in the SEC, Arkansas 50-14 in Fayetteville earlier this season. If they can do that to the 2nd best team in the SEC on the road, they would run roughshod over the rest of the conference. Oregon State, their only loss, was much more competitive against the Trojans than the Razorbacks were.
Ohio State beat Texas 24-7, the defending national champions
on their home turf. That was their only loss until they lost to the
upstart Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday in Manhattan. Stop
making excuses for the SEC. Arkansas got whipped by a better
team, plain and simple. USC was the better team on that day.

SEC is a good conference but its not the most superior collection of teams that people make it out to be. Arkansas is their best team and they got walloped by USC. Florida is very average and should lose again (either to fsu or ark.) Auburn is a choker in big games and LSU is inconsistant. True SEC defenses are fast and tough but that does NOT make it a great conference. Admit it sec fans you wont have a shot at a bcs championship this season

The SEC will have more post season teams in bowl games then any other conference. The PAC-10 is made up of a bunch of weak teams. Look what happened to Cal when they played Tennessee, and there is no way USC can beat Arkansas with the way they are playing now.

Exactly! The SEC is overrated. Look at what all their teams did this weekend.

Also, why didn't Florida drop in the polls? They won by luck against an unranked team. Florida is not the 4th best team in the country, and just because they play other SEC teams does not mean their schedule is difficult. Look at where those other teams are ranked now.

Good question.

Single games against the same team every few years is one thing, but YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT IS ANOTHER! I'd LOVE to see some of those Big 10/Big12 boys ATTEMPT to match up with Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Auburn, Florida and etc. on a YEARLY BASIS! Most of them would GET HAMMERED! Granted, every dog has his day, but I GUARAN-FREAKING-TEE you that Year in and year out against a schedule of SEC schools, they'd have less of a chance than say, Auburn having to play a "ferocious" Big 10 comprised of Purdue, Indiana, Wisconsin, Penn State(I include them because once they joined a conference and had to get away from Pitt, Rutgers, Temple, et al, their fortunes haven't been so good), Northwestern, Michigan State and etc. Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia would whomp them most of the time. But, I will agree that all major conferences have their losers too. I could see someone like Indiana being good in the SEC if they only had to face Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Mississippi, Mississippi State and etc......

I HAVE HEARD SEC FANS SOUNDING OFF FOR MANY YEARS ABOUT HOW STRONG THEIR CONFERENCE IS. BUT IS HAS BEEN REALLY OBNOXIOUS THIS YEAR. WE FOUND OUT HOW STRONG THE SEC REALLY WAS THIS PAST WEEKEND WITH ONE OF THEIR BEST TEAMS (AUBURN) GETTING THEIR WAR-SPARROW REAR-ENDS WAXED BY A VERY MEDIOCRE GEORGIA TEAM. GEORGIA WOULD BE SUB .500 IN THE BIG TEN, THE PAC 10, AND WOULD HAVE TO FIGHT REAL HARD TO BE BOWL ELIGIBLE PLAYING ACC, BIG EAST OR BIG TWELVE SCHEDULES. IT'S TIME THEY GET A CLUE. IF THEY WERE THAT STRONG, THE BCS WOULD JUST TRANSFER THE SEC CHAMPION TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!

they might beat a SEC team in a one game matchup , but to play those tough teams week in week out takes a toll on your team.
take a look at seven week span on florida schedule:
@tennessee
vs kentucky
vs alabama
vs LSU
@auburn
georgia - in jacksonville
all of those teams are going to be playing in bowl games this post season
thats a pretty rigorous schedule for any team week in and week out

I have often times asked the same question. Maybe it has to do with too much sun, adversely affecting brain waves.
