Well RAM would clear things up but I would check it for spyware. That is the main thing that clears it up. Go to http://www.download.com and download AdAware SE Personal Edition and SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition. Go on Ebay if you want more RAM it's cheaper there. Hope this helps!

E-machines as well as any computer uses the Hard drive as a virtual memory dump if you have minimal room on your drive it will slow down drastically. basically you need to remove some useless data off the drive. more ram could not hurt but i suggest you try that first. if you would like a site to help you keep your pc in good working order then goto pcpitsop. there is full instructions on safety, speeding up your machine, spy ware issues etc. the instructions are easy to follow and will give you a test of performance before and after.

memory wont help much probably ... if ur running XP then u need at least 256 ...going to 512 will only make a slight difference in everyday computing that you will notice ... and anything over 512 you will barely ever notice unlees ur a gamer .... u ever use an antispyware app like adaware? ...its usually a waste of money to try upgrading an old machine imo ... just put the money to a new one ...

Try defragmenting the tough force (even though I consider Vista does that for you routinely). Laptops have sluggish tough drives, and a fragmented you can actually fairly motive issues. Also be certain you are not jogging any techniques you do not desire jogging. Then, ultimately, set up SP1. There are plenty of perf upgrades in Vista SP1
