Im writing a research paper on astronomy in Ancient Greece, MLA style. My question is, in MLA style or in general, would the word 'ancient' be capitalized when talking about cultures? Im not sure if I should be writing 'ancient Greece' or 'Ancient Greece'

Also, please dont answer unless you know for sure. Im not looking for advice, Im looking for the standard format answer. Thank you!

Ancient would be capitalized if it begins a sentence or refers to a title, chapter, or section of a book - it then becomes a proper name which is capitalized. It would not be capitalized if you are using it as an adjective.
