I lending is such a bum deal and if borrowing means loosing a friendship - why do people do it?

I generally regret lending things when I have to plague the person to return it - and this happens most times I've lent something!

Yes when I have lent something or some money and the person says I'll give it back next week or when I get paid and they never do. My mum always says lend something if you dont expect to get it back.

Its the human nature and the natures law !
Humans regret for having borrowed something from either the Bank or another human..when.....
1. its time for returning.. and also..
2. we have almost finished paying it..
mainly this happens in case of loans
from Banking establishments and we
calculate the amount opaid and
the amount borrowed.. !

if i ever lend something i write it off as a gift. then if it is ever returned it is like getting a gift.....i have regretted a book that i have been unable to replace and never got back

I borrowed a power tool for my garden from my mother. It blew up. I replaced it (cos I am a nice person). It cost me £85. I regretted not buying myself the power tool on the first place.

yeah books, as there seems to be an unwritten rule I didn't know about, that you don't have to give books back .. ?!!!
Also only lend people money if you are prepared to give them it as people not paying others back has caused more upsets between friends/family than anything else I know ....

Yes I let my sister in law read one of my books when she came to stay with me. It was a birthday present ,so I asked her to be careful with it. After she left, I discovered that she had taken it with her. I have asked her many times to return it. I have now discovered she gave it to someone else. That was the last time she stayed here!

yeah ive regretted borrowing or lending something. when i get it back its usually messed up
