I know they would never meet in the wild. I wish someone would bring them together for a fight. It would be so much better than UFC.

I think it depends on the situation...in the water I think definitely the hippo, on land I would go with the grizzly.

I would guess that the hippo would win.
Bears may have fierce claws and teeth, but the hippo's gigantic mouth and foot-long fangs look far more dangeorus to me.
The biggest grizzly bears weigh less than 2000 pounds, but adult hippos can weigh around 7000 pounds, so the hippo is easily the more massive animal.
I remember reading about a zoo where they placed a rhinoceros in the same area as a hippopotamus and the hippo killed the rhino!
If the grizzly bear and hippo fight, I would imagine that the hippo's thick skin would protect it from whatever scratch the bear manages to inflict on the hippo before the getting killed by the hippo's monstrous mouth.

Depends on where the fight occurred.
A hippo is specialized for swimming and is clumsier on land than a bear would be. Likewise, grizzly bears, while able to swim, are more designed for getting around on land and would be at more of a disadvantage in the water.
More likely than not, a hippo would win in the water; a grizzly would have a better chance on land.

I watch animal planet all the time even i am still on elementary school my classmate tease me as a nerd,nature boy but so what ! I think grizzly bear because i saw this series on animal planet its called Battleground and i saw a bear preying a antelope on the forest i think a bear have a massive attack.

I am slightly torn, but I would vote for the bear...it seems quicker than the Hippo.

well i think that hippopotamus might winn because it has big fangs and the bear has huge claws, so i think the hippo might winn.
