I type the word hello in a notepad but saved it as hello.exe. And when I opened it, an error occurs - NTVDM CPU illegal instruction... unable to delete file. What will I do?

I cannot rename or delete it using the command prompt. I says The process cannot access the file bec. it is being used by another process.

If u r using xp, go to "Run" , type cmd and push enter.
You will see black box with c prompt.
Go to the directory where you put the hello.exe file
type del hello.exe
when it asks are you sure, type y
it should be gone

Just rename it back.
1. Click Start, RUN.
2. Type CMD.
3. Press enter.
4. go to the folder containing your file with the CD instruction.
example: cd MyStuff
5. use REN command.
example: ren hello.exe hello.txt
6. You're done.

You can't rename a text file to an exe one! Text file only contains text, while exe contains instructions!

Rename the file extension to be .txt

If you set your computer to show file extensions you can edit the the extension just like you do when you rename a file

you can try using killbox,this might be able to delete the file
