~ Do your homework right when you get home before turning on the TV or computer.
~ Find out if your school offers an elective that teaches study skills, or see if there is a tutoring program you can join.
~ If a teacher offers a study group for a test go for it, he/she will know exactly what you need to study and you won't be wasting time memorizing the wrong stuff.
~ Pay attention in class and take notes. If a teacher writes something on the board copy it down, the teacher wouldn't waste his/her time writing down something unimportant or irrelevant to the topic.
~ Use a planner or some type of organizing book to write down homework and *check it every night*.
~ Once the teacher tells you the scheduled date for a test start studying, even 15 minutes a night will make a difference.
~ If possible, study with friends, this can help a lot because different people might have ideas you never would have thought of for remembering certain topics. (Just don't waste time fooling around or getting off-topic until the studying is done.)
~ Eat a good breakfast, get lots of sleep, and participate in sports. ( The brain needs food, rest, and a stress relief.)
~ good luck : D

Try this for a few weeks or months.... it may be a challenge...
-Be serious in your desire to improve your grades...
-Reduce your telephone, television, gaming and computer time.
-Get enough sleep everyday. (at least 8 hours)
-Go for a brisk walk when you can.(helps clear your mind and relax you)
-Eat a healthy breakfast everyday (all healthier meals if you can). Take a multivitamin or have a fruit smoothie with a powdered vitamin suppliment blended in.
-Cut out junk food or have some on the weekend.
-Don't worry about unimportant things like what people think of you or if your hair is perfect etc.
-Pay attention in class to what the teacher is saying and what the material presented is really...listen carefully.
-Try not to think about someone you have a crush on.
-Ask for help/ explanations when you need it from teachers, your parents, good classmates or get a tutor.
-Ask them for tips on taking better notes and studying more effectively.
-Have fun on the weekends.

This all should make a difference in a positive way.
All the best to you.

Avoid having a social life just focus on classes. During holiday breaks make up for it. I mean live it up socially, if you do not like people your grades should be great.
