Papadeaux's in Houston the reason I say that is that they have Cajun food which is like stuff I never had growing up in Jersey. Blackened Catfish, Alligator nuggets, all kinds of new stuff.

Manoir d'Quatre Saisons, in Oxfordshire - the restaurant belonging to Raymond Blanc. Now, there is quality service, and the most amazing eating experience you could possibly hope for. I've been there three times with my husband, and each one is better than the last.
Everything is fresh (when I asked for lemon verbena tea, it was picked from the garden!), the service is immaculate, and everybody knows what they're doing and takes pride in it. The surroundings are gorgeous - all the glassware and crockery is Villeroy & Bosch. And as for the food - I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. The first time we went, Raymond Blanc came out and talked to us; the second time we went was my birthday, and my husband had mentioned this when booking the table. We were given little sugar plaques, beautifully inscribed with "Bonne anniversaire" in blue food colouring. It's that sort of detail that raises a meal from good to exquisite.

It was a French restaurant in Roanne called Troisgros.
There were eight small courses, each absolutely delicious, which combined marvellous flavours, colours and textures. The food was served on an assortment of beautiful china and so well presented that it genuinely justified the saying " good enough to eat". Service was pleasant and un-starchy. You could see what went on in the kitchen through a huge pane of glass and it was like looking at a well ordered ballet. There was no screaming, shouting,or rude words like on our British cookery programmes. The whole team worked effectively and harmoniously. Absolutely memorable.

Juniper in Altrincham, Cheshire, It's a Michelin starred restaurant which serves the most amazing food I've ever tasted, one of the courses came in a plastic pill cup and when i asked why it was served like this the answer i was given was 'it tastes better out of plastic'.
The staff are superb, the chef and cooks are sublime, the environment is luxurious but not ostentatious, the prices are ridiculous but well worth it for a treat.

Bangkok, At the end of Kho Sahn Road, in a little alley way next to the (Shell?) petrol station. It is a little Israeli restaurant (owned by Thais) and playing the Israeli version of Mash on TV. Its been about 5 years since I was there, but if its still there its well worth seeking out.
How random!

Blue Elephant Thai - Fulham, London
Amazing, you walk in and you are greated by 10 Thai women in traditional dress, they all bow as you walk past them over a little wooden bridge into the restaurant.
The place is full of authentic detailed furniture and it feels like you are in a jungle, their are many lush plants everywhere (including hanging from the roof) and even a pond with goldfish. The place is magic.
The food is very high quality, and the presentation is excellent. It definitely gives you that little bit extra and you forget you're in london.
Plus on your way out they give you a fresh Orchid in plastic.
Wow!

We were on our honeymoon. We didn't have a lot of money so we stayed at our place on the lake(Erie) Port Clinton, Ohio had this neat little restaurant called Smugglers Cove. It had this amazing view & the food was pretty good too. I think we must have sat there for 3-4 hrs. It is one of my favorite memories from our honeymoon.

I can't remember the name...but it was a tiny Italian bistro up the mountains in Tuscany. FAB genuine Italian home cooking, great family that ran it...just totally different. It was on the site of an ancient winery. We'd spent the day walking and diving off a waterfall...headed home got dressed up and off out for the biggest Florentine steak ...unforgettable!!!
