Go out and do something!! have fun you didnt loose him he lost you. You deserve better than that. Go shopping, go see a movie, do something to make you feel better, try blocking him out. He was a jerk and jerks deserve to be alone. Its not the end of the world and its going to be rough getting over a love, but you will meet someone that will appreciate you. and your mind drifts off and you begin to think about him, I know its not right but think about all the pain he has caused you instead of the happy times. Because you are only going to make yourself misreable thinking about the good times. Think about how badly he hurt you and you will learn to really dislike him and the sound of his name will make you want to throw up. turst me been there done that and thinking about all the bad times got me through it. You have to love yourself

Keep yourself very busy, spend lots of time with friends and family, and give it time. Nothing will help you heal but time.
Best of luck, I know it can be hard, but remember no companion is way better then one who disrespects or hurts you. You made the right choice so take comfort in that.

Give yourself a couple of hours to be alone, to feel sorry about yourself, and to cry. Then get a shower, get dressed, and go out. Anywhere there's people. Take a friend if you can.
You need to surround yourself with people that can help you get through this. People who are sympathetic but won't let you withdraw into your shell forever. Choose these people carefully, and don't let yourself become bitter forever.

Make it a point to go out with your girlfriends. They can offer you support and encouragement. Also, get into something...like a new hobby or support group. By being busy you will keep your mind off of the negative things and feel better about yourself and the situation!

You're going to think about him. You may as well accept that. The only thing that will cause him to leave your memory is time. On the other hand, a good therapist can help you learn how to handle your thoughts of him until time has taken its course. Good luck. You're doing the right thing.

keep busy - sitting around not doing anything will make it worse. Use whatever distractions you enjoy - movies, exercise, books, etc..
It is difficult but you have made the right decision - take it one day at a time and I promise it will get easier

You should be happy that you have gotten away from that abusive relationship. It may take a while but I assure you that you'll get over it.

That isn't going to be easy, yet, remember when you start to think of him. How abusive he is, then smile and thank God you was smart enough to move on with your life.

Just keep busy. In your spare time, volunteer in your community. It's tough, but after you get used to being by yourself, you'll really enjoy it.
