Train travels 30 miles at 30 mph therefore it has been moving for 1 hour.

If the train needs to travel another 30 miles then the total distance to calculate the speed is 60 miles.

What is missing is the time factor. If it is one hour then the train needs to be travelling at 30 mph to average 30 mph over the 60 miles. If the time factor to cover the rest of the distance is more or less than an hour then that will influence the speed needed to average the 30 mph over the total distance.

If a train travels at 30 mph for 30 miles, then travels another 30 miles, the train would have to travel at 30 mph to average 30 mph for the entire distance.

30 mph. If the train has been traveling any distance at 30 mph, and continues any further distance at 30 mph, its average speed will be 30 mph no matter what the distances involved are, because it will always have been traveling at 30 mph.
