I'm from Australia and most women in my country have jobs and contribute to the household income. We do not obey men and men do not obey women, we respect each others thoughts and feelings. Well most of us do.

In the UK Men and Women have equal rights. Men and Women usually both have jobs and share everything. The home, children, money and responsibilities. When the children are born it is usually the women who stays at home and looks after them but it can be the man. The money that comes into the home is for both of them no matter who earns it. No one partner is a slave to the other. If a woman is dependant on her husband and does not work then she usually cooks and cleans the house and looks after the responsibilities of the home. She is not made to do it, it is how the couple have decided to split the responsibilities. Everyone is different so you will have all types of marriages. They are an equal partner in Marriage and share everything.

I'm from the U.K and we only use obey in the marriage vows if the bride and groom want to.
People use love, honour and cherish which is much more respectful to both the bride and the groom. I wouldn't marry anyone if I had to "obey" I just could never imprison myself like that.
I'm a stay at home mum so I am dependent on my husband to be the person who earns the money we spend. The money is both of ours to be spent as needed, not his but ours.
I tidy the house and look after the kids while he is at work but when he is home we both do whatever needs to be done.
It is his home and children as well. We are equal partners.

In the U.S. the vows of marriage usually don't say "obey", they say you promise to love and "cherish" each other. That means caring about your mate as much as you do yourself (male and female say this). You share your income and you share child-care and household chores. Money belongs equally to both, no matter who earns it. Many women work outside the home. Slavery is forbidden.

It really depends on the religious background. Southern baptists tell women to submit to their husbands. Catholics encourage women to stay at home and be mothers.
Our laws state women are to be treated as equals, in practice its the furthest from the truth.

marriage for me is equal we both give our own little bit and we share everything. Best way to do it, But I know people who slave over their man and I will NOT do that even if my country demands it cause a man does not have power of anyone

Equal friends and partners in UK.
I use my husband's money but I am never his slave and never need to obey him. I am my own person.

HELL no! We are independant, and equal partners.
Men are not allowed by LAW to treat us that way.
No women here would ever put up with that!!
Most of us have jobs, so we pool the money, too.
