Red bull does in fact have a ton of caffeine but do some research. I was told by my doctor that it was safe to have no more than 3 cans of regular soda a day...does red bull have more caffeine than that in it? Look into it and if your still unsure call your doc. I'd say if you can drink less of it or kick it altogether good for you!

well, you can technically do whatever you want. But you need to keep the risks in mind. Caffeine is a stimulant and can induce labor and increase heart rate to a dangerous level. If you have always had it everyday it may not affect you at all... but if I were you I wouldn't want to risk it. You are only 5 weeks so you never know, once the cravings and stuff kick in you may hate redbull. But towards the middle to the end of your pregnancy when premature labor is a serious concern I would steer clear of any heavily caffeinated drinks. Maybe have a fountain coke or a 1/2 decaf iced coffee or something. I am a coffee addict- like 3 iced a day but pregnant I cant even think about drinking it. Good luck and congrats! Whenever in doubt, ask your doctor what he recommends.

No it is not ok. Stop with the caffeine! If you can't stop cold turkey, start by cutting down to one every two days, then one every 4 days, then once a week.. by then you should be able to stop it altogether.
My last pregnancy I had a premature baby, I went into labor at 31 1/2 weeks and most likely it was because I craved stupid caffeine and cafe mochas 24/7. Too much caffeine can make you lose that baby, being only 5 weeks pregnant.

Red Bull is dangerous not because of the amount of caffiene but because of the way it is consumed. It has the same amount of caffiene as a large cup of coffee but typical people sip a cup of coffee as opposed to throwing back a can of Red Bull. A large dose of caffeine like that is dangerous to your fetus. Why would you put your baby in harm's way? Please try to cut back. Ice it down and maybe drink 1/2 a can at a time. Or drink a soda instead. I know it's hard. I had to give up a 3 can a day habit when my blood pressure was so high. I wasn't even doing it for a baby! But I did it. It's your child. Please try.

I would recommend that you stop having all products that contain caffeine. Your baby is developing at a fast rate, You would not want to complicate the already fragile process, by adding a caffeinated drink to satisfy your craving, would you?. Be aware that many things happen invetero and you want to take every precaution in having a healthy baby. I have a four year old son, in which, I had been put on bed rest in order to even hold on to him. He was born healthy and I am blessed. If you choose to breast feed your baby... Red Bull will have to wait even longer... Make a wise choice for the safety of your unborn child. Good luck.

I wouldn't risk it. I had to have my 1 Vinilla Frauppiccino every day. But, once I found out I was pregnant, I started drinking a chocolate milk instead. I still would love the caffiene, and my cigarettes but it's not worth the risks.
Good Luck!

It's ok to drink an energy drink, but make sure you drink you 10 cups of water per day as well, especially because of the caffiene in the drink. When baby get's bigger, and you still have the "red bull" habit, the baby gets a little hyper and you might regret it a little bit, because they sleep a little less, and you'll feel more kicking than you usually would.

I don't think its healthy for baby. Red Bull has alot of caffeine in it. Caffeine and pregnancy don't mix well, too much and you might have a miscarriage, if you are low on energy and need a pick-me-up, try fruits and vitamins at this early stage in your pregnancy. I wish you the best....

I was always told caffeine is OK as long as it is in moderation. Check with your doctor, but I'm thinking you shouldn't have any problems. If you want to cut it out, do it gradually, but really. One can has about the same amount of caffiene as a cup of coffee, so you should be in the clear.
