I think he is categorizing the two items together becauase he feels abortion is extreme and marijuana is not so much. If we can legally kill a fetus (I am not going to get into a big abortion topic..... you are aborting..... killing something...... whether or not it's alive outside your body and how you feel about it is entirely up to you), why in the heck can't you light up a joint to get high?

I geel like marijuana can be a gateway drug in a lot of cases. But, I also feel that there are people who do use pot responsibly. People don't rob or rape or kill when they are high..... Usually the only thing they want to do is watch tv and eat snacks.

I agree with him, though. If it's legal to kill something that has no choice in whether it lives or dies, we should legally be able to kill our brain cells. They are ours, after all. As is the unborn fetus in which one carries... it's your choice, do whatever you want with it.

Whatever the case may be, abortion or pot, legal or not, people are going to do both. May as well make pot smoking leagal. I actually believe that teenage drug use would go down if pot was legal because it would no longer be "taboo" or something fun to do because you can't get "caught" smoking something legal and get in so much trouble for it.

And no, I have never smoked pot before. I am not a hippie pot head. And neither have I gotten an abortion. But farbeit for me to judge and tell someone what they can and cannot do with their bodies.

Despite the reaction from some, I think you have posed a good question here. Specifically, why is it legal to kill, but smoking the mj is illegal? Regardless of your stance on abortion, I think most people would agree that it is a far worse thing to do than smoke a joint.
