Most definitely he would fit into this category I would think, also his government with all the spin ,lies and broken promises that they give. Not to forget their rather dubious transactions such as cash for peerages scandal. and Prescott failing to pay his council tax and only doing so when he was caught out. One law for them and one law for us it seems?.

He is not the sleaziest leader of any government in the world - there are many countries with far worse governments. However a case could be made for his being the sleaziest British PM. Today's Times says there will be a new investigation into why he pushed through a BAe deal with an Africann country even though he knew a cheaper deal was available. So much for caring about Africa!

This is a really good question. I think that in recent years perhaps Bill Clinton is an excellent candidate for the sleaziest president/prime minister figure. But he's not in such a strong position as Tony for this because his cabinet wasn't very sleazy.
From an historical persepctive it is just possible that some of the Borgia governments or maybe something from pre-revolutionary France was a little sleazier!!

Blair and the favourite public of his cronies have further us all to our knees with their lies and deciept. of course not each and all of the government contributors are corrupt yet till now the ' candies' have been saved down by ability of the close corrupt Tony/Gordon gang. Now the deliver is sinking rapid , the rats will go away and the solid reasonable adult males will stay to tell the story to assist form a solid opposition sooner or later years. the before the better !

I am a socialist and have been all of my life but I have never voted for this government.
Blair's body language gave him away before he said a word and finding out he was a solicitor turned me off immediately.
I voted Liberal when Ashdown was in office but he was nobbled.
The State has control of the politicians these days where Murdock rides trail boss for Bush over the whole.
For those in the relatively Free World watch out.

Ever is a very long time. Study the history of British PMs and you will find many that were "sleazier".
By the way...to Alan R, vividtoy, scorpioal..., JJ & Sharon M.....
The question was asking about Tony Blair and the position of PM. And your answers had nothing to do with the question. Have you no opioinon on Tony Blair and the position of PM in England? Or are you so anti-Bush that you blast him on any question you can find?
That is truly pathetic.

Are you serious? George W. Bush is way worse than Blair. Blair is a good Prime Minister compared to Bush. And Labour aren't sleazy, you could say that the Republicans in America are! No wonder the South Americans voted for the Democrats. You cannot refuse someone entry to your country, unless they are a serious threat. And personally I think people with HIV/AIDS or diseases shouldn't come to the UK, why should we have them infecting everybody? We cannot cure them and quite frankly, they are wasting money! People with incurable diseases should be banned from leaving the country their in, unless for vacational reasons. Don't you agree?
