According to several sources, Beyonce and Eva are making a movie about a lesbian love affair. Supposedly its going to be very graphically. What are your opinions. Personally, I would prefer two real lesbians than these talentless attention whores. But I'm sure this will be the movie of the year for most straight guys

I am very surprised Sofia Coppola will cast these two women as the main characters. This makes me really disappointed in her as a director.
I thought she had real talent, but if this really goes though, it looks like she's just after the $.
As far as I'm concerned, Beyonce can't act and her singing isn't anything spectacualr either. As for Eva, I love her on Desperate Housewives, but I think that's where she belongs.

Some general problems for me:

1) This has already been done! I enjoyed the BBC miniseries. Why are we re-doing it?

2) I'm all for adaptations and changes, but Nan and Kitty and everyone else, to my recollection, was whiter than sour cream (pardon the phrase). I'd like to see a story about Victorian lesbians of color- I think it'd be fantastic- but the story doesn't allow that to be taken into consideration.

3) I'm not going to say anything about the castin choices . . . I'm sure that, under stellar direction, anybody can look and act well. Unfortunately, were Beyonce and Eva chosen to draw attention to the film, as big name stars and that's all? Did anyone give any thought to who could pull off the intense emotions, or is it all for the sex scenes?

4) I'm just very scared that this is going to wreck the book's value in a lot of people's eyes. Ick.

However, it gets a tiny thumbs up for getting to see one of them as a male impersonator. Should be worth the five bucks at the theater.

Ew. These ladies aren't sexy to me. They are all over the place, and I'm sick of their faces.

Now, Audrey Tatou and Winona Ryder...that'd I'd watch.

I liked the BBC mini series by the way. I really enjoyed Sarah Waters "Orange is Not the Only Fruit".
