In college football today the BCS is one of the biggest mistakes that has ever been made. Its perception of strength of schedule is so biased toward teams like USC but who do they really play. Most seasons like this year the SEC is one of the hardest conferences. IF you dont agree with that then what about teams like LSU, Tennessee, Auburn, Flordia, Arkansas, etc. I mean all these teams are top calibure. USC plays BS teams and lost to a school that was not even ranked. Tennessee vs. Cal this year showed the weakness of there conference. It ws 35 to zip Tennessee in the first. Then Cal dominates there conference the rest of the year. Call it what you want i'm just tired of seeing teams that are not worthy of being there in the championship. I think an 8 team playoff or something like college basketball would be better than what we have, but if we stay with what we have then something needs to be done about the BCS, & teams like Rutgers that are undefeated also desere a shot.

I mean rutger beat Louisville the former number 3 and if they beat West Virgina they should be in the championship period. They a undefeated and if they stay that way how can you say they should no be there.

Let USc Take any sec Schedule and lets see them not lose 3 or more games. And for that matter Im not sure who they could beat.

they beat arkansa the first game of the year when arkansas has injured players that are a big impact. but ill give credit they one but they lost to a team that is the size of a junior college.

2006-11-13 03:03:40 · update #4

flordia would beat usc, hold on not only beat but it would not even be a game that why usc lost to texas last year and will this year to who ever they play.

2006-11-13 03:08:42 · update #7

the computer is wrong the sec is the hardest hands down. usc could not do what they have in the sec. they play junior colleges for god sake. flordia beat tennessee, arkansas, lsu, alabama, south carolina, etc. all huge schools that are in the mix every year. usc beat o yeah we dont even know hteir names because they are so small they dont even get recognition. ill give them credit for one win arkansas, thats it period. i think cal and dame will beat usc. it will end my argument but, we need a playoff. fans need to stand up and put their foot down. if we had a playoff none of this would matter. the best team would win not the one who plays the easiest teams.

Here is what will happen. Rutgers gets beat by WV...they go away...Florida wins out, they're in the National Title game...Whoever wins the OSU vs. Mich. game plays Florida.
I agree the BCS is worthless. We need playoffs!!!!!!

USC has beat two confernce divison winners. Arkansas and Nebraska which no other team has done. By the end of the season they will have played 5 top 25 teams. If USC beats Cal, ND, and Ucla they will have beat more top teams then anyother team by far.

How can you sight Tenn beating Cal when USC destroyed, demolished and demoralized Arkansas who might end up winning the entire SEC and whipped Tenn?

No way does Rutgers take USC's schedule and stay undefeated. Rutgers just benefits from playing in the Big East.

Its still a long season and USC and Florida will have to fight it out.

I think if Arkansas runs the table, then they could get in. They play the #9 team in LSU, and also another top 10 team in the SEC champ game. 2 wins against top 10 teams should factor in huge in the BCS....somehow i see WV stompin on Rutgers to kill that conversation.

Also, if ND wins out (including beating #3 USC) and michigan beats Ohio St., then ND should deserve a championship game bid. Cuz that would mean that ND's one loss would be to the regular season #1 team. No other one loss team would be able to say that (except for Ohio st....then we can debate if they should rematch michigan)....its still too wide open at this point, which is why college football is awesome!

We need a playoff system. I am so sick of this crap against the Big East just because Rutgers is doing good. If it was WVU or Louisville or even Pitt at the top you wouldn't be saying how weak the Big East was and that they don't deserve a chance. Just change the name and everyone shuts up against them. As to USC so they beat Oregon, Oregon didn't DESERVE to be ranked. Oregon cheated against Oklahoma and we all know it, or you forget the game already. At two losses Oregon wouldn't be ranked.

if you look at all the schedules who does anyone really play? OSU beat 1 ranked team, as did michigan. Florida sucks and will lose so it wont matter what they do, USC plays tougher teams so they do deserve the high ranking. As for rutgers they would get some schedule respect if they played better teams (beating howard shouldnt even qualify as a win).

i think rutgers has a shot, as long as the teams above them lose one of their last games..which may be unlikely...they still have a few games left..so its not a definite they will go undefeated..but i dont understand how a one loss team or a two loss team can be considered over an undefeated team, provided that undefeated team beat teams that are ranked in the top 10.

some pretty valid points, but USC is good. don't forget they whooped arkansas, an SEC contender. and when it comes to strength of conferences, you are contradicting yourself.

okay, so you think the Pac 10 is weak and they don't deserve to have USC represent them in the BCS championship game? and your case is for undefeated rutgers to play for it? if USC was in their weak conference, USC would go undefeated and play for it anyway.

okay, so rutgers is undefeated. but so is boise state. if west virginia beats rutgers, and boise state wins out, your logic would put them in the game for the national championship. is that fair?

i'm sure there are plenty of two-loss teams that could kill boise state.

so the system is the system. you just have to accept it.

The Sagarin computer poll has usc with the 2nd toughest schedule in the country, Florida the 14th, and Rutgers the 66th.
