Ever since I found out I was pregnant I have been having a dull pain in my pelvic area. It is just like the ache I get when my period is due. Is this normal? It comes and goes. This is my first pregnancy and this is all new to me. I am not sure if this is just part of my body changing or something to be worried about.

YES YES YES! Ive just had my first baby and I was the same, I didnt realise I was pregnant till 8 weeks as I thought the ache/pain was period pain. You do get the odd twinge in that region throughout the 9 months and contractions feel a little like this too.... Apparently it is the uterus stretching but do mention to the Midwife so she can set your mind at rest! I stressed for the first 16 weeks so it is normal. I know its very daunting but dont worry, I had loads of wind, heartburn and couldnt stop burping throughout my pregnancy (I thought I was turning into a man!! LOL) but its normal and soooo worth it in the end. My little girl is now just 6 months old and I cant wait to have another!
P.s. I had pre-eclampsia during labour and couldnt have any pain releif......but dont worry, although contractions feel like period pains and they do get quite strong as the baby gets ready to come out, It isnt as painful as you think...Dont get me wrong it isnt a walk in the park but I was soooo nervous as Im such a wimp and it really isnt too bad. Your body seems to take over and as soon as baby is handed to you, the aches/pains seem to have been a lifetime ago. Good Luck honey, Im sooo excited for you. It is sooooo special. The only tip I will give you is if your baby is anything like mine, get your sleep in now...LOL. I didnt appreciate a good night's sleep before but now Id kill for one.......

Take Care and Enjoy every moment xxxx

All My Love xxxx

P.s. Discovery Home and Health site have loads of forums for pregnant ladies and I joined one at 9 weeks and went through the full nine months sharing my emotions/feelings etc with all the other mums who were due the same month. Its such a good way to set your mind at rest when everyone else is going through the same.

When you say 'pelvic area' I don't know if you mean a lower back ache that usually occurs during periods. The lower back ache is very different from the ache you feel in the pelvic area. I had a lot of pelvic weakness when I was pregnant from the very time I found out. In early pregnancy itself I had to support my hips with my hands when I turned in bed. Talk to your doctor about it. You probably require a strong calcium supplement. And one with magnesium will be good. You will absorb the calcium better. If this is the kind of pain you've always had during your periods, consult your doctor to make sure the pregnany is on track and going well. Take care!

this can be of some concern. Becasue when you are are still early in pregnancy you are suseptabe to having miscarrages. However I would not think this would be happening to you. A miscarrage consists of alot of bleeding and alot of cramping. Just be aware of what your body might be doing. do not worrie about it until there is bleeding, and cramping. An achy feeling can be someting so simple as your body starting to adjust to being pregnant. The tendons in your pelvic` area are streaching and starting to make room for baby. good luck and congrats.

It's probably your uterus stretching. Some cramping is normal, but if it becomes severe or you bleed, see your Dr. You'll probably also have some pain in your hips, near your pelvic bones. This pain can be sharp and often happens when you sneeze. It's normal, it's just your round ligaments stretching. Get the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting", it's a great reference. Congrats.

sounds like you have a little bit of the round ligament stretching. It's your body's way of getting ready for pregnancy and childbirth. I went thru it around the same time. it can be uncomfortable, but it will go away. Really, there's not much to worry about unless you have bleeding or sever pain that won't go away. But don't be afraid to call your Dr. and ask questions. They've heard it all!

Probably just ligmanet pain as your uterus stretches to accomodate your baby. I had the same at that stage. It's quite normal to have pain like that throughout pregnancy, although it should be an ache rather than severe pain.

all normal, this is just implantation process. You will feel more aches and pains to come, your ligaments will streatch too. You might even have some implantation bleeding, which should be brownish...
You will feel all kinds of pains and each one will scare you. Get a good Pregnancy book, like mine, what to expect when your expecting, this book was my bible with my first, im now pregnant with my 2nd and I feel like im a pro!

Good Luck Honey!

Dull Pain In Uterus Area

2016-10-14 02:23:54 · answer #8 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

hun i have been experiencing the same problem every time i pass urine. I wasnt too concerned at first but im now 14 weeks and its still happening. I went to the doctors today and they told me that it is probably nothing. However, just to be on the safe side they took a urine sample and have suggested i have a swob to test for infection. The best thing to do is to speak to your midwife she will advise you what to do, thats what she is there for.

Congrats on the pregnancy x

Sounds like what your experencing is normal. You'll have cramps that feel like menstral cramps and feel all kinds of weird things. As long as your not having servere cramps that don't go away and bleeding I'm sure everything is fine. Have you been to the dr yet? Most don't see you until 8 wks. I don't think you should worry though.
