I want to get a laptop that I can use to consult from home to work during my maternity leave... I work in the applications/design/customer service department for a factory. All I am sure I will need capabilities for the laptop to handle is: high speed internet (which I do not have hooked up at my home), AutoCad 2006 LT version, and simple programs like Outlook, Word, Etc. I am on a very tight budget and need help choosing a company to go through that will finance and provide me with a nice laptop so I can get my work done efficiently. Thanks!!

Try Dell.
http://www.dell.com/
Click on laptops for home/home office.
Then check out their special offers and closeouts.
As low as ~$500! {Although AutoCad may have high
end requirements, check their website for the minimum
configuration.}
Dell offers financing too.

Why dont you ask the company that you work for to give you a loaner laptop to use for the interim until you go back to the office? They will put all the software you need on it and set up your mail. The companies I have worked for did that for all employees, even the fathers maternity leave lol.
