Get a free domain and free hosting
(not just a subdomain) from Microsoft.
http://officelive.microsoft.com/

The least expensive place to buy a domain is
1&1. ($6/year - includes 5 page website and e-mail!)
http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=8292866.
Advanced hosting from $3/month.
They provide the sitebuilder,etc.
With the larger hosting packages, they'll give you
Adobe's GoLive (WYSIWYG and HTML editor),
which is second only to Dreamweaver.

Why a free host? Are you just playing around with something, maybe building a personal site? Then myspace is probably better than most free hosts are and easy enough to use. Or you could try freewebs which has a pretty easy builder, and just had an overhaul themselves...BUT (and this is important)...

Any free host is a waste of time unless you just want a site to show off to family and friends as noone will find your website at all! (except when you tell them your address).

BUT If you could stretch to say $5 then it's worth looking at a host like http://hostmonster.site-builder-solution.com because you can host any numebr of domains at very little cost, AND they will at least be REAL websites , and YOURS (i.e. you won't just be building a site to promote a free hosts company). It's worth a look because your own domian name is included in the deal and they have a simple website builder too. Check it out before you plump for a complete freebie - after all it costs peanuts and you'll have a site/s you can be proud of.

I can only say I wasted enough time looking for the best deal myself so I know what it is like - but after plenty of false starts in the past - I wouldn't be able to say it is really worth using a free host in the long term. The efforts I put in on free hosts sites are all 'lost in the void'!

Try NVU for making the html. It's simple to use.. You'll get the idea in no time...
..and then just upload the stuff you made to your site..

Dunno about free hosts tho.. ?
