cooking oil or wd40 both work great, and they won't hurt the wood.

My tip is easy and won't cause you to lose the fine finish on your table. Take a hunk of peanut butter and smear it on the sticker. Leave it be for about 10-15 minutes. Come back and wipe it and the peanut butter off. The sticker should come with the peanut butter, but you might have to a second application if its one of those sticky sticky ones. The nice thing is it won't remove any color from the table like rubbing or using alcohol based products. Its a cheap and easy alternative to products like Goo B Gone and similar products. Hope this helps with the problem!

STEP 1: Remove stickers from glass, plastic or metal with alcohol-based products such as nail polish remover or 91-percent rubbing alcohol. Oil-based products such as cooking oil, mineral oil and baby oil can also be used. Apply the liquid to a clean cloth and saturate the sticker; allow it to sit for a minute or so and peel the sticker from the surface.

STEP 2: Remove stickers from cardboard and other paper products with an alcohol-based product or with a commercial solvent. Apply the liquid to the sticker with a cotton swab until the sticker is saturated. Avoid getting too much liquid on the surrounding surface. Peel the sticker away.

STEP 3: Remove stickers from wood with furniture polish or any of the products listed in step 1. Again, saturate the sticker with the liquid and allow it to sit for 1 to 2 minutes. Peel the sticker away.

STEP 4: Saturate stickers that are on hard plastic surfaces (plastic tubs or food storage containers) with cooking oil. Allow the sticker to soften, then immerse it in water. Wipe the sticker away.

STEP 5: Repeat the sticker-removal process if any gummy residue remains after the first treatment. Scrape residue with a paint scraper or razor blade.

Big problem and valuable lesson, and the solution depends on the finish of the table. Ouch! - You already goofed, big time, when you used something as strong as nail polish remover on your table. The paint was probably water base, like latex, and would have come off with warm water and patience, and exercise care not to do water damage to the table. Whatever you use to remove the paint, if it will also remove the finish of the table, you will have to refinish the table. Pledge is valueless for this problem, as are other polishes. At this point, the best advice is to have more experienced eyes look at the actual table before you do additional damage.

Aren't children wonderful? I would recommend using your hair dryer to gently warm the glue on the sticker then pull it off. If you have some residual glue left, you can use something like Goofoff to remove it. You need to be careful when using any product on your wood, so test it on a place that you can't see first.

Not sure where to get the product, but I've used a product called Goo Be Gone. Spray on orange goo, let stand for minutes, wipe off. It is amazing!
