"conspiracy" no. Why do you think that? The home tests can be an aid but they do have their limitations. You can go to the local birthright clinic and get a free blood test. They might ask if you can make a donation but they will test you even if you say no to making a donation.
Good luck getting pregnant and may your baby be healthy.

I think pregnancy tests are great if you have bad habits that could hurt a baby you weren't aware you were carrying. That way you could quit them before you do to much damage.

I was always told that women who are sexually active should ALWAYS take folic acid no matter whether they're trying to get pregnant or not. You just never know when pregnancy could happen.

So if you don't have a drinking, smoking, or drug problem, or a need for more than 3 cups of coffe a day...And if you don't mind the suspense,

I'm all for the wait til it's obvious approach. :)

No, I just think most women are too anxious and test too early. I ovulated on day 14 last week and I had a pap scheduled on day 25. My OB told me it was too early to even take a blood test. That was 3 days before my scheduled period, so if it was too early for a blood test, it was way too early for a urine test. I always recommend buying the 2 pack tests because they are cheaper that way and almost every woman ttc is going to take that first test too early to be detected.

I went to the dollar store and bought a few cheap tests. I thought it was worth it just so I could take one and not feel bad about wasting $15 for a negative test!! Once I got a positive I used a name brand to verify the results! So far so good! :)

I have found them to be accurate. I think one of the biggest problems, however, is that a lot of women test at the wrong time. So many women are so anxious about finding out whether they are pregnant or not, that they test too early and get the wrong results.

Hehehe. I told my hubby how the one I bought this weekend didn't even have a color show up at all, and in the directions it specifically said that meant it was "invalid" and to go try another [insert brand] at a slightly later date.

Makes you wonder, eh?

But I don't really know or think it's that way; I think sometimes you get duds, sometimes you don't do it as carefully as you thought, sometimes it was too late in the morning, etc. In the past, I'd always get SOME color, no matter whether pink or blue. So. I think I just did mine too early or wrong.

Oh no they work perfectly fine. I bought one for like $3 from the grocery store and it came up positive....8 months later my daughter arrived. You can have false negatives with the tests if your concerned about the money go to the grocery store or dollar store and get the store brand one...they're cheap and they work.

I have never had one that didn't work, all mine were store brands, one from target one from walmart when I was acutally pregnant i remember that. My sister in law buys hers at the dollar store for a dollar and they have all proven accurate so those 10-20 dollar tests are a waste of money in my opinion

I'm beginning to wonder that myself. Those home tests are a waste of money. I took one that was a false negative (guess what, I WAS pregnant) and I also took one another time and it was a false positive (guess what, I WAS NOT pregnant). I had to go to the doctor both times anyway to find out, so what good did it do me to waste my money with home tests? Not to mention messing with my emotions! HEY, is this grounds for a lawsuit?

I think that's a ridiculous theory. They sell a product and charge fair market value. If they don't make a profit they can't provide their product. It's as simple as that. Those companies aren't charities, they are businesses. Any business that provides a product or service is "taking our money" and it's up to us to decide if it's worth spending money on what they are providing. Good luck.
