Am doing a dissertation on the French Health Service, and I would like some clear meaning, rather than it all being in French!

It states the following in the link provided below:

You are in France on holiday or on a short stay**, you can ask for reimbursement of any unforeseeable but necessary medical expenses, on presentation of the following documents :

An up-to-date Form E111 or your health european card
Your passport

"Feuille de soins" (form given by doctor/nurse/dentist/hospital etc. for forwarding to the Social Security), medical prescriptions and invoices relating to payments made during your care to the nearest Caisse Primaire d’Assurance Maladie in the area where you are staying.
Depending upon the nature of your care, you, as the patient will be charged for a contribution to the costs. This varies from 65 % to 20 %. For example, if you pay a general practitioner 20 €, your contribution will be 6 €.

In the case of hospitalisation or of external care, you must present a photocopy of your E111 or your health european card to the establishment involved. You will be asked to pay your contribution (20%) as well as any daily hospital charges (meals, telephone, tv, etc.).

I hope this helps you
:)
