What do you do when you have a 17 year old son that is totally out of control? He calls me names, gets suspended from school for calling teachers names and getting into altercations with other students (fights). He is on probation however from another state and because the state that we leave in now does not think that his behavior is the extent and because he is not a delinquent (yet). No he just disrespects his mother and does what he wants to. He has served 10 days in a Juvenile Detention home just recently and it had no affect on him at all. If he doesn't get his way I am called Bitches on a daily basis and was just called a ***** when I picked him up from school on Thursday from a suspension. We are doing counseling but its not working. Please, please somebody tell me what I should do. It’s to a point where I have to throw my son out of my house. By the way keep in mind that this is a kid that is mentally challenged diagnose with Trauma Brain Injury at the age of 15 months...

If he ever makes threats to you or others, or appears that he may be a threat to his own well-being, you can have him arrested as a threat (cops and professionals call this being "Baker-Act'ed", based on the law that allows authorities to arrest a mentally deranged suspect).

People who are apprehended in a psychotic state are taken in for short term assessment (usually 24 hours); if they are diagnosed as mentally ill, either acute or chronic, they are taken to short-term facilities for analysis and to allow time for families to try and arrange long term treatment through a residential or other long-term facility for adolescents and minors.

In some cases, insurance covers mental care, both residential and counseling; otherwise, rely on the state's social services organizations - either this boy gets saved now, or the police will be cleaning up after him in the future - God forbid at the expense of someone else...

Adolph Hitler had a solution for things like this. His idea was that individuals must be able to work and benefit society, and if they could not and were a drain on society's resources then they should be eliminated. Among those he proposed to exterminate were those with birth defects, the sick, and the mentally ill. Anyone who could not make a contribution to society was a candidate for elimination. He felt that the drain of the resources to support those who could not or would not work was a drain that society could not afford.

Whether you agree with his thinkng or not, if you project out the costs to society to support and keep alive those who cannot support themselves at some point it becomes out of control and unmanageable. A similar situation confronts Social Security; as more and more people live longer and draw more and more benefits the system will eventually go bankrupt. It becomes unworkable when one worker must support 10, 20 or 30 who are not working. Somewhere along the line it will all collapse inwards upon itself like a house of cards.

This is the fundamental issue of your question: what do we do with people who are a net cost to society? How long can working people support thiose who are not working? How long can the society support those who contribute nothing to it.

Your problem may be a lot more personal and emotional because he is, after all, your son, but you are reaching the point where it is becoming unworkable. When that happens a hard decision has to be made, and this is where you are now. There are no easy answers that are pleasant and happy. There is a brutality involved, but bear in mind that humans are the only animals that insist on keeping the dead and dying alive as long as possible. All other animals (with perhaps the exception of dolphins) kill them without hesitation.

Call the ARC of the county you live in and see what services he can be hooked up to because of his diagnosis. They might be able to help with outreach services, respite or even permanent housing(and even with that he could still come for visits). At least at the ARC home where I work the "guys" are treated extremely well in a home with caring staff with two staff for three clients. They each have their own rooms and we are truly like extended family. there is NOTHING institutional about it as it is a "regular" home in the community. We are specially trained to deal with the behaviors and they get the support they need. You would not be kicking him out but placing him where he can receive the most consistant, structured to HIS needs, help. Another suggestion would be to call 211 if available in your state to find options for both you and your son. Good luck.

You have to find what he cares about. If it is privacy in his bedroom, remove his door. If it is video games, take them away. I realize he is mentally challenged and I don't know if these suggestions are going to work, but if the judge sentenced him to 10 days in juvenile and not a mental facility, I have to imagine he can understand some things. You have to demand respect from him. If he calls you filthy names, then don't cook him dinner that night. Tell him your not going to be nice to him if he isn't nice to you. If you feel threatened by him, by all means get you some pepper spray or one of those shocker things, but I wouldn't show fear from him. Me and my 15 year old had it out the other day and he was telling me that I haven't been a good mom to him (this of course coming out while he is grounded for being 3 hours late) so I told him to pack his clothes and find someplace else to go if he thought I was mis-treating him. Once he knew I wasn't backing down, his little attitude changed.

Take him to a hospital. There might actually be something wrong with the wiring of his brain, besides the trauma brain injury. There are surgical procedures that change human behavior.

If all else fails, get some backbone and kick his ***.

Too many words...there is blunders in them. Yeshua's preaching became into baffling the Pharisees and Sadducee, and one clever guy instructed them "do not combat those adult males, for in the event that they're from God, you will locate yourselves scuffling with against God, and in the event that they're from adult males, they'll fall..." they did not pay interest. They did devil's suggestive thinking. The Society is doing precisely the comparable, with the aid of fact - on the middle of those variety of contain the words "fake Teachings or Apostasy”, which for sure is concern for various critiques. working example, in case you think Israel's territory continues to be very lots a controversy with Jehovah, you're spreading a "fake coaching", with the aid of fact the Society says "...Israel is non secular..." . you're doing the comparable too. Do you think of Who controls DNA, set the Universe in action and placed the celebrities in place, does not have the potential or intelligence to handle that? Like Yeshua instructed Peter "...do not you think of i will ask the daddy for 12 legions of Angels to shelter me...?" permit Jehovah do the rebuking....
