For those of you who know the movie and have seen it bear with me for just a minute while I explain the movie to others. The movie is about two brothers who after a bar fight go on vigilanty style killings. They only kill men who have killed others, work for mobsters, and mobsters themselves. If you haven't seen it you need to go rent it tonight. So my question is this, if two people went around the United States killing the murders, rapist, molesters, pimps, and other "bad" people, would you be for them or against them?

This is a very tough question to answer (as the movie also points out with the on-the-street interviews at the end). On one hand, society as a whole would be "safer" with fewer "bad" people on the streets. On the other hand, vigilante justice can make the same mistakes that the justice system as a whole makes (letting the guilty go free and/or punishing the innocent). So then the question becomes, are the vigilantes also "bad" people, and if so, who is going to punish them? To me, vigilante justice is very romanticized... it makes a great movie, but would you want to live with the consequences in reality?

Against them. Two wrongs never make a right and vigilantes are no better than the original perpetrators.

I am against them because the laws and order will punish the criminals.
