i think my computer system has been hijacked (im using the one at my school right now if ur wondering) my homepage has been changed, and it says there's a possibility that it was hijacked. i got rid of four viruses last night, over 100 things of adware, and over 200 things of spyware (and mind u, i run those programs every week, ive never had so many infections on it) and last night it STARTED to work ok, and then it stopped again. it freezes up and i cant open any programs, not even task manager, unless im in safe mode. i called best buy, they said to fix it is about 200 dollars. i dont have that extra money to spend. so wut can i do? or is my computer ruined?

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

.
No your computer is not ruined.

You can have your computer go to the Last Known Good Configuration
by restoring it to a date earlier than this problem.
Clear all your cookies and temp files
Also you will want to run a great tool for fixing hijacking situations like yours.

A. Restore to earlier date:
1. Go to START > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
2. Create, or select an earlier date and complete the wizard.
3. Restart your computer.

B. Clear your Cookies and temporary files.
1. On Internet Explorer top toolbar click TOOLS > Internet Options >
click button DELETE COOKIES
2. Use your pc Search feature
START > Programs > select Search >
type in asteric dot tmp
*.tmp
3. When Search finishes at the top select EDIT >
then Invert files to highlight them all >
then select FILE > and DELETE

C. DUMP your anti-virus program...it didn't work, did it?
Get a new FREE Home version of an excellent anti-virus software = AVAST
http://avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Install > run > do a thorough scan
and allow it to run on your computer all the time.

D. Get this FREE anti-Hijack software
1. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
2. Download and run the program
BE CAREFUL what you delete,
from it's findings:
it will find the offending program and others that you may NOT want to delete. Only delete the one that hijacked you.
3. Reset your home page
a. Surf to your homepage of choice
b. In Internet Explorer above click TOOLS > Internet Options > click button USE CURRENT.

glad to help
;)

2 your answer about that 1 question on accepting Christ as your Savior or else burning in hell,
you can be as unique as you want 2 be, but don't you care about where you're going when you die?
I do. It's not going to be hell.
But good luck on being unique, when there's so many others out there believing the same thing you believe and are ending up in the same place that you are when they die.

You are better off installing the system disk and repairing the Windows system. Let the system biit from the CD and follow the directions for repair the OS. It will fix the stuff. Also buy virus protection for Symantec or others immediately.

You can download free antivirus and antispyware programs through the yahoo toolbar. Be careful downloading anything that says .exe, these are viruses. Also, if you're unsure press cancel. Stay off the porn sites too.
