I wonder if Lili made a mistake on the plane and visited the wrong country... Greek food is among the most famous in the world. It is also very healthy cause its based on olive oil and is full of choices for vegetarians as well. I have never ever heard anyone that didnt like greek food. The greek people are very hospitable and friendly but not always polite. There is a big difference between being polite and being friendly. If you are a tourist then you have much much less change of being fooled for money than most countries in the world. The scenery in Greece is absolutely breathtaking both in the islands and in the mainland. The choices for vacation are endless.Sunny beaches with alot of tourists and party all the time and also quite and lonesome beaches for those that want peace. Awsome mountains,Olympus and Meteora for example, for those that fancy climbing.2500 islands to choose from each one with its own style. The history of Greece is probably the greatest in the world and can be admired in numerous arceological sites and museums all over. The Acropolis of Athens, Epidaurus in Peloponesse ,Mycaine,Delpi,Pella in Macedonia,Knosos in Crete are some examples that are famous worldwide.
Besides that ,Greece is a modern EU country with all the comforts. It has been struggling to keep on for a long time due to the Othoman occupation, many wars, world wars, civil wars , dictaroships but in the last 15 years it has made a huge development although there are still some strange diversities. Still it has much to do but its on the right track, the recent Olympic games which were considered to be one of the best and better organised in history are a fine example.

Summer in Greece is the solution for all the problems. There is really no place like this.Chosen by gods.

THE MOST AMAZING PLACE YOU WILL EVER SEE IN YOUR LIFE !!!!

We visited Greece last year. We started in Athens which is so interesting and busy, friendly people and so much to do and see. Then we moved on to the islands of choice - Mykonos, Paros, Naxos and Santorini. No dissappointment there - the ferry to each and every island arrived so on time you would think they had a competition. It was smooth sailing all the way and very picturesque along the way.

Mykonos is pure magic - hired a quad and went all over the island for only 2 Euros of petrol and 8 Euros to hire for half a day. We had a ball and literally saw almost all the island. The atmosphere is just awesome, the food yummy and the people extremely laid-back.

Paros and Naxos were also magic but their own different things, yet the same. The sunset in Naxos was out of this world - people sat up and waited with cameras just to see it. Once again, the people, food, culture and atmosphere leaves you breathless. You feel like you have stepped back in time.

Santorini (my favourite island) is straight out of a picture book. The sunsets are pure magic, the food to die for, the people soooooo friendly. You get to see all the cruise boats, loads of tourists all with the same interests as you (relaxation, enjoyment), magic, magic, magic is all I can say. We didn't want to leave.

If the rest of Greece are like what we saw - you have to go there, you may never want to leave. I could live there for sure.

I think they have some amazing ancient treasures and a fantastic, diverse history, but they could do so much more to display and showcase this. Museums are often old and dusty and it seems that even the curators don't value what they have on display, eg, smoking is inside museums by staff. I found it was expensive and over priced. People are rude and will happily take your money without much effort or care in return. Personally i did not like the food and often wander what others rave about. It is generally dirty and many beaches are overcrowded and the water dirty. Sorry, not a thumbs up from me. I can think of better places, like Croatia for example.
