Only two US states have significant areas that lie below sea level: Louisiana and California.

The lowest area of Louisiana lies in New Orleans at 8 feet (2.4 meters) below sea level.

California has two very large areas that lie below sea level: the Salton Sea (and most of the Imperial Valley) and Death Valley. The Salton Sea averages 220 feet (65 meters) below sea level. Death Valley is 282 feet (86 meters) below sea level.

All of Los Angeles is above sea level.

You can check the elevation of your area at the TopoZone website below.

Thought that only Louisiana (New Orleans area) and California (Death Valley) had areas below sea level?

Sedimentation has been going on four billions of years. Sea level has been rising at a rate of 20cm per century. (This does not mean that sea level rise can never rise at a faster rate.) At that rate, if it had been rising for 4.5 billion years, sea level would have risen 9,000km. Sea level is not rising because of sediment.

You might try the USGS website (US Geological Survey). I live in Louisiana, and, as we all know by now, New Orleans is below sea level.
