I have ordered some class books. Some of the books have different dates in the notes handed out at the Gentlemen's club. My students would like to know why that is? The book has only recently been issued

Good question. I only have one copy of the book. My gentlemen's club note dates it in April of 1926 but the book flaps and some of the reviews state that it is set in the 30s on the eve of World War II. At first I thought people might not have been paying attention and made mistakes...but your explanation would make much more sense!
