Don't waste your time. Don't get into trouble with the laws. Don't do anything illegal. Don't be such a hypocrite. Help others if you can.

You can be a friend to the friendless. Vaulinteer where help is needed. Sometimes, I even donate a couple of buck to the Ronald Mc Donald House and if you have an over abundance of food, donate some of it to the food pantry. They can always use that. Even opening a door to a person with a bag full of items would be doing a good deed. Even the smallest things can mean a lot to someone else. As for being a better performer? What are you trying to perform?

You have to tell us what do you consider bad in your way of doing things before asking us how .... well...
I think it's useless to hear any people suggestions even mine, because if YOU want to be a better person, YOU are the only one who knows what's good and what's not. Think about what do you find bad in your way of doing things before. Like, if you now realize that wasting money on a casino doesn't help you to earn lots of money, then just go there as less as you can (because you can't not to go there if it was one of the things you used to do). That's all I can say : follow the opposite side of what you used to do ... of course you have to judge it wrong before taking a new way... I'm sure not everything you do is ALL wrong... just change some things that you think you'll like yourself more than before. You have to feel good about what you're doing.
Besides, it would be paradoxical to be a better person to other people. It won't be the same thing... I mean you have to choose to please others, or to please yourself. As I always say, you can't make everyone happy.. but by making yourself happy, doesn't mean you'll make other people around you happy and same thing if you want to please other people.

A good start is this question..
What I suggest...is for 2 weeks do 10 good deeds a day for someone else..(you cant tell anyone or brag about it)...for instance, letting someone go in traffic, helping someone carry something heavy, letting someone go ahead of you at the grocery store, helping an animal somewhere (the pound), maybe go walk the dogs that are there.
there are many things you can do to help (everyday these oportunites present themselves)..
-just be yourself-
-do the right thing-
-give blood-
-visit someone in a nursing home-
smile at everyone and wave to them, brighten someones day...
the list goes on and on..
god bless u

1.Figure out where you want to be in six months, one year and five years. Write it down....all of them. Do one thing toward those goals every day, even if it seems a trivial accomplishment...those add up, like pennies in a savings account.
2. Make a list of 10 things you want to accomplish in life. Climb Everest? ...put it on there. Learn a second or third language? put that on there too. Have home on the beach? that goes, too.
Now that you have your list, put it in your wallet and refer to it often. Do ONE THING every day toward one of those goals.
For instance, if you will need to learn climbing skills to get to the top of Mount Everest, study on techniques or do specialized aerobic exercises every day. If it is a home on the beach that you want to work for, then start researching plans and places and put some money aside .. even $5 .. every day.
The whole point is to have a goal and to keep the goal firmly and clearly in sight. A person without goals will wander aimlessly, like a ship without a rudder.
And remember .. ships may be safe in harbor, but that is not what ships are for. Take calculated risks. Explore. Enjoy. And remember to savor the sunsets. ...they are like a congratulatory note for your day's accomplishments.

Do something kind for someone. Volunteer at a woman's shelter. Try being a big brother. Join habitat for humanity. Treat people how you want to be treated.
Good Luck.

this is something I think everyone thinks about at some point.... but what makes someone better than another?.. Can a person become better in the first case? I think that we can to a certain extent...in that in our desires of what we want to become we may get closer to our ideals and I guess this is becoming better.... My only advice would be to think about thse things....

Just be concerned about people and kind. Think before doing something and ask yourself, "would I be able to put up with it if it happenned to me?" If the answer is no, then DON'T do it to others. That's a good start.
