Yeah mid 20's. But I had to move back in with my mom a few times. But I always was able to get out on my own again after a few months.

I do not know how old the average is... but the average person is stupid and I wouldn't want to model myself after an "average" anyway. "Playing at being grown up can wait for when you are a grown up" was some of the best advice my parents gave me. IMHO as long as you are in school, and your parents are willing/able, staying at home is the BEST option.
When in school your primary focus is to get the degree. Period. Everything else can wait.
Don't waste time & money on anything that interferes with that goal - yes this means all those parties popularised by movies. Don't waste your money on an apartment if you can live at home & go to school for less - the time spent earning income to afford the lifestyle will cut into your study time and be more expencive in the long run.

Once again, there is no defined average. Averages vary from country to country. An average in the US I would put at around 19, Europe, around 18, India, near 22. Some people want to start living on their own, some don't. But there is no too old, there will come a point where you will decide for yourself based on YOUR priorities, not somebody elses ;p.

Several of my graduate school classmates still lived at home. I'd say, as long as the arrangement works for everybody involved, its not an issue. I moved out before I graduated because my Mother had a problem with my being in school. (she'd pick fights and start screaming at me an hour before a test...) Of course, I had a full-time job and was in school at night, so I could move out. I'd say I was about 25 when I moved. I did move back briefly at various times, but never for long.

Consult the statisticians. But for me,i have no problem living with my parents if they are cool with it.I need money for my future and can't waste the little i earn on rent, food and other bills when my parents are more than willing to let me enjoy them free of charge.I'm just being economical with my savings.

For parents the children are always young, no matter wht age they become. Here, in India, even after their marriages, children stay with their parents
