Anyone can post info on the net, so it's important to know the source. Even then people can have opinions and biases towards the same set of facts. It's important to be sure you are getting info from a reliable source and then be careful when selecting facts over inferences.

There is a lot of good information on the Internet, there is a lot of garbage too.

The Internet is sort of a free form communication. Anyone can post almost anything they want.

Yahoo! Answers is a perfect example. Most people make an honest attempt to give good answers here. But there are also quite a few people who give B.S. answers. They feel anonymous hiding behind a nickname, so they post anything they want.

The rest of the Internet is no different. Lots of good information on any subject. But it is up to you to decide if the the information is legitimate or B.S.

Because often you do not know who put it on the web. Often people do not know much about what they are writing about. Alternatively, it could be written by someone with a strong bias about a subject. This is not secessarily bad, but it is good to know the bias, so that you can adjust the way you read the piece.
