Oh unicorns are so fashionable! Just look at ones from like the my little pony range. They really know how to accessorize .. for a horse, anyway. and they come in great colours, too. mostly pink tho.

In Chinese mythology, the Unicorn was an animal of good omen that came to humans only on important missions. Its appearance was interpreted as a sign of good times, and the fact that it has not been seen in many centuries suggests that we are living in "bad" times. It will appear once again when the time is right and when goodness reigns.
One of the first Unicorns is said to have appeared almost 5,000 years ago to give Emperor Fu Hsi the secrets of written language. Then, almost 4,700 years ago in 2697 B.C., another Unicorn made an appearance in the garden of the Yellow Emperor (Huang Di). This auspicious omen was seen by the emperor as a sign that his reign would be long and peaceful. Two Unicorns also lived during the reign of Emperor Yao, the fourth of the Five Emperors who shaped the world 4,000 years ago.

First off Unicorns were a very unique creature, They had their own magical powers, They had their own place in the history of man, and they always remained free of mans captivity. They seem to have brought peace to mankind where ever they were found. Everyone always enjoyed their beauty, and if anyone harmed one they and what ever they owned always seem to meet with total destruction.. And there was never a story about any of them every harming anyone or anything. Did they every really existed. Well I say that anything that mankind can imagination could have very well existed. By mankind was noted for many thing, And some of those things were the total destruction of many species of animal life. Also mankind is noted for saying and doing this. If I can have it no one will ever have it............. Thus goes the Unicorns into oblivion................

When somebody says unicorn I coin up an image of childhood fairy tales, more surreal than deja vu: white silvery maybe darker grey on the edges merging in the silhouette, the unicorn's on the surface of a rocky oasis but not the moon. It represents angst, sadness and joy but not beauty. I don't think of eyes or anything sentient. Mostly marble, sapience and the fact that it's to be stared at rather than fawned over for beauty. That's my conjecture. Think: Celtic, Cleopatra and Centaur.
