Restricting yourself to accepting answers just from LA folk really narrows the possibility you'll get more vaild answers than you might, otherwise. The fact that you might BE THERE isn't a lock on getting "work" You might think too,, NYC, Miami, Chicago, even Europe?
Define "WORK" For "Actors" is nebulous, subjective and relative. One can be at the top of his game and still have to get creative with peanut butter. Certainly anyone already struggling should be prepared for further struggle.
With no offense, I wonder your level, regarding talent, education, connections, perseverance, self confidence, and passion for the craft,,,no matter any rejections.
Perhaps,,, as so many must, you should assess all those, adding tolerance and acceptance,,, maybe even compromise, if only to remain on your chosen path. baby steps work, as does patience and insistence. That relates to anything one does with their life.
Can you bus tables, wash dishes, work as a clerk at a 7-11,,,etc. NO offense. Oh yeah don't forget to hook up with a copy of my book 101 ways to prepare, serve, and enjoy peanut butter,,,smiles.
