Doesnt it show that the Arab world wants to get rid of Israel and people are too blind by hatred to see it?

Domo, Olmert and his band ARE the lib element of Israeli politics.

As for the question, the UN, with a few exceptions, is nothing but a group of world criminals, dictators, and terrorist appeasers and/or practitioners.

The UN won't even acknowledge "terrorism" for these reasons.

Damn, I like Bolton-- and he was right to veto that slanted, one-sided, accusatory "condemnation" article.

If Hammas would stop firing Kassam rockets from Gaza into Israel.....................

When the UN created Israel they should have foreseen the problems it would cause and they should have called for the placement of a UN peacekeeping force to prevent the Israel from being targetted, or from allowing the Israeli's to be the aggressors.

Twice Israel added to its country in wars it won, and kept those areas as a "security buffer", which is an acceptable practice in world law. However, when they built settlements in those zones they were in direct violation of the Geneva Conventions which prohibit settlements in captured territory.

There is a need for Israel to exist. But that is true of the Palestinians as well. The UN needs to make Israeli/Palestinian peace a major objective.

well... I don't think Israel is exactly "squeaky clean" and has never done anything wrong... but I don't think that they are the devil either...

the facts probably are... Israel has probably done some stuff in the past that they should have been un resolutions against them... but they probably aren't guilty of everything that the arab world blames them for and wants to impose resolutions against them...

so, we're in the situation of knocking down every petition, even when some may have validity... and then when we do knock down one that has validity, it makes the other side look like a victim and then they pursue non-valid resolutions even more...

it's a mess... guh...

I think he was wrong to do so, but then one must consider how much of an economic power Israel is here in the US, however considering that we have invaded and repleced leaders of other countries who have done less or the same as Israel has with respect to the Palastinians, we should not have vetoed it, but this and past adminstrations are blind in their unconditional support for Israel, who also attacked our ship during their 6 day war!

He was absolutely right. The resolution said nothing about the terrorists shooting Kassam rockest into Israel and was terribly one-sided.

The u.s. policy at the u.n. regarding israel is just mindless support for the most conservative elements in israeli politics. it is totally counter-productive because no one has any respect for it, but the whole world has to tolerate it. My question is, when will the progressive people in israel ever get rid of these war mongers who are destroying their own country with their militarism?
