Every day when I get up I go to feed my rabbit and when I open the cage it starts screaming.
And it does to every body in the house accept my father.
And when it screams I pick it up and pet.
But it always looks upset for some reason.
And i put it back in the cage and its starts kickings its bowl and toys around the cage and starts screaming again.
How do I stop it from doing it.

I have never heard of a pet rabbit screaming before. Rabbits usually only scream if they are in severe pain or distress. Usually if they have been caught by some kind of predator or are severely hurt. I would take her to the vet just to rule out any physical symptoms, because I have never heard of a rabbit screaming for no good reason. It is possible that its very afraid of you, but still, screaming is a very severe reaction in rabbits. I've heard their scream sounds eerily human. My bunny will kick around his cage when he's upset with me, but nothing like that.

This is just speculation now, but maybe the rabbit was injured at some point and when she sees you she knows you are going to pick her up and she knows it will hurt so that's why she screams. I would take her to the vet just to make sure. Otherwise, she's probably just very afraid, so maybe don't pick her up for a while. Just pet her and maybe feed her some greens or a carrot out of your hand so she gets to trust you more.

From the book entitled, "Complete Care Made Easy - Rabbits The Key To Understanding Your Rabbit"...page 143

"Screaming: Rarely heard. Rabbits scream when deathly afraid, as when caught by a predator or in a trap. Screaming also indicates extreme pain or fear."

Are you handling your rabbit correctly? If you aren't picking it up correctly, you could be causing it pain. The rabbit has learned to associate you opening its cage with upcoming pain. The scream may be an anticipation of the pain it knows is coming.

Kicking the toys and bowl around is a sign that the rabbit is angry. Do you take this rabbit out of its cage for play time, exercise, and socialization? Rabbits are very social animals, and it might be the only way the poor thing has to tell you that it wants more attention.

They also have very fragile skeletons and require exercise to keep their muscles strong to support that delicate frame. A cage kept rabbit is not getting the necessary exercise. You need to provide a safe place for you rabbit to get some time to hop around and use its muscles.

There are a lot of books available at pet stores where you can learn more about the proper care of your rabbit and tips on how to understand your rabbit's attempts to communicate their needs to you. The one I have referenced is $9.95 and I got it at the Pet Store where I buy my supplies.
