Why do you have to do anything? What does sexual orientation have to do with friendship. If you care for this person as a friend, I don't see the problem. I have gay friends, and it has never come between the friendship we share. If it's something troublesome to you, talk it over with them, I'm sure they would appreciate your honesty.

You still love your friend for the friend that they are! My best friend in the world is gay and we have been best friends for almost 20 years. I wouldn't trade him for the world. People are very lucky in life if they have the privlage to say that they have at least one good and true friend. The fact that your friend is gay should mean absolutly nothing -- if YOU really are a friend.

You do everything you've been doing up to now. Be a friend. If your friend trusts you enough to confide in you and tell you he's gay, then you need to continue to be his friend and support him. Don't treat him any differently. Being gay is not a disease and you're not gonna catch it.

Be their friend, just like you were before you found out they are gay. Remember, sexual orientation is just a choice, like your favorite color. I know people will disagree with that statement, but in the over all picture of your life, it works. You like women, he likes men. No biggy. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Give them a hug and tell them their life will be more difficult but you will be there to make fun of and ridicule and plot to kidnap everyone who makes it diff cult for them. Then go do what you normally do because nothing has changed. People are people and we all need some R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
