because he likes to keep himself hidden so that he doesn't disturb the sleep of the children, so they have energy to play with their new toys in the morning.

it's not that he don't like to be seen,it's because his so busy on Christmas eve, he don't have time to be seen, all the Santa's in the shops are really his helpers taking note of what the children want for Christmas, then they tell Santa who sees to it that that toy is made for the right boy or girl, it takes all year for him to prep air for Christmas eve so he don't have time to make appearances, but sometimes you might get a little glimpse of him from the window or you might just see him creeping out of you house Christmas eve, after his eaten your mince-pies and drank the sherry or whisky children leave for him.....some times if you listen very hard on Christmas eve you might hear the sleigh bells ringing, or Santa saying ho- ho- ho, as he rides his sleigh of into the night... happy christmas.to you and your family and tell you son i hope he get everything he hopes for........

Tell him because Santa does'nt want anyone to keep him talking, that he would'nt have time to deliver all he presents if he stopped to say hi.

He's got so much work to do. he just wants to make all of his deliveries and not be distracted. If every child waited up to see him he would never get all his work done.

Because he's shattered and when people are tired they have big bags under their eyes and tend to be grumpy, so would probably scare them or shout at them!

Also, he doesn't want to be kept talking because he's got a lot to do!

Because he is European, and even though in America we think being fat is cool since most of the population is obese, Santa is from Europe and realizes that being fat is gross. At least he doesn't walk around eating McDonald's and letting his thong hang out like the people here do!
