I'm not sure about the yard. Is there something that they're trying to get to? Try to keep all food products in trash cans, and have cans that are animal proof. This means metal cans, that the lid either is very tight, or has something that keeps it from opening like a clamp or hinge.

Raccoons can get into any thing that is not locked all that spray don't work either and they will kick a dogs azz up one side the yard and down the other if you live in a rural area, blast em with a 22 but watch out for rabies this time of year the hides are worth money to a fur buyer some will buy them green(not skinned)the fewer the hole s the more its worth eliminate them or they will keep coming back

We dont have racoons in england. Plenty of Scottish people in our garbage bins though. I find a bottle of whisky to bait them and a stern word in there ear hole scares the little critters away.. HAHA

look for relocation programs within your community.. .no, not for you... for the racoons. also, pour a small amount of amonia in your bag of garbage before you put it outside for collection - this is supposed to "burn" their eyes/nose when they tear into it and they'll leave the bag alone. you might want to invest in garbage cans with snap lids to keep them out.

My son purchased large garbage cans with locks because raccoons can just lift up the top of an average can.

Google this. You may find their natural enemies and can help this way.

I heard that you can spray your garbage bags with ammonia when you put them out and that animals will leave them alone. Also if you put mothballs in your yard that should help. Make sure they are put where young children or pets can not get to them . Good Luck!!!!!!!!!
