hon, this is the 2nd question of this type. Let me explain something to you. Miscarriage is characterised by alot of spontaneous bleeding. This is usually what leads up to a misscarriage. SO, if your girlfriend started bleeding and THEN went to the hospital. Safe to say she misscarried. If she went to the hospital and came out very sore and groggy, without a real *concern* to go in there, then chances are it was an abortion. Either way, I am very sorry for your loss. However, the fact that you are unsure of what's going on with your girlfriend in a capacity of pregnancy, I really really advise you that you need a new girl. I'm sorry, if you don't have honesty and the ability to communicate, then you don't have a relationship. For your sake, move on. p.s. I've known women who have told their boyfriend's they were pregnant, then once they got what they wanted, they told them they had an abortion when in fact, they weren't ever pregnant at all! Best of luck in whatever you decide, but I urge you to find someone who can be open and honest with you.

Early miscarriage is bad cramping and bleeding. This will require a trip to the dr as often the body is unable to expel all matter on it's own and requires a procedure to take care of the rest.

The after effects of an abortion are bleeding (not very severe, not like a miscarriage), inability to do any lifting or physical activity for about 48-72 hrs. Other then that, not much other then emotional issues.

2nd trimester miscarriages would be water breaking, going into labor. This would require actual labor & delivery or a pretty serious procedure to dialate and expel the child/placenta. This results in massive bleeding and cramping and the milk comes in so breasts would be sore.

abortion - she wont be able to lift heavy things for 3 weeks and will bleed heavily for a few days - but that could be a period
m/c - bad cramps and alot of blood- but depending on how severe or how long it last that could also be her period

I'm interested to find out what your story is
