waiting 4 entire years for each world cup is what makes the world cup so great...so important, and so huge

any shorter of a time in between world cups would make it mean less, and being the world cup champion wouldn't mean as much

Consider this: The harder you work for something the more you value it.

If they make it every year or 2nd year then it would lose its value besides there are lots and lots of other trophies.

OK I know you said three years but if its three it can just as well be four dont you think?

The clubs have so many competitions and leagues that there just wont be time to prepare for the worldcup. The coaches need those 4 years to prepare a team.

Maybe 3 years wont be so bad but dont try and convince me tell it to FIFA.

I don't it goes in line with the world's best compete for the gold in the Olympics every 4 years also. Unless soccer is removed from the Olympic games if you changed it to every 3 years there would be back to back years for world champions. I understand it is a different title but essentially it is the same the winner is still called the World Champion.

every 3 years would be perfect. unfortunately, i think it would be an organizational and logistical nightmare for the host having to cope with so many things in so short a time. with so many contenders participating in the qualifiers alone, there would be few countries who would vie for the responsibility. i guess the 4 year cycle will stay if only for these reasons. anyway, we have the national leagues and the regional competitions to keep us football fans entertained till the next WC comes along, so it's not really such a bad wait.

No. I think players need the rest. Already the European championships are played in the alternate even years between the World Cup. This stretches players out, especially after a gruelling club season.

To have the World Cup played more often means that players will have to play more games, which will burn them out further.

nope. i mean it is like impossible to make it three years unless u want all the players to retire early from being over tired. u see. u nid time for qulifiyers which are already clashing with primeir league matches etc. and euro cup is like every 2 yrs before world cup. the main players are really really packed .

yeah, i think 3 is perfect, but if it is reduced to 2 yrs, it will be just like cricket, like the icc is held for every 2 yrs, n most people dont care much for the trophy!
