This is just taking the PC. If Diwali and Yom Kippur can be celebrated then surely Christmas can for a start off Christmas is celebrated in several religions not one like most of the other festivals. Baubles to the lot of it where is the true meaning of Political Correctness, it should be all or nothing. PC my winter celebration stocking.

I as a non christian am saying ignore what your little area is saying. The whole world will be celebrating Christmas on Dec 25th. Santa will be bringing CHRISTMAS presents for your children. And drink lots of mulled CHRISTMAS wine, eat lots of CHRISTMAS food and sing lots of CHRISTMAS songs!!! (The government cant possibly come up with a law dictating you cant say christmas, now can they).
For goodness sake what are these people thinking, whoever comes up with these rules. No one is forcing anyone to celebrate Christmas, but please let those who do to enjoy their time with their families. I am muslim and I WILL be celebrating Christmas with my family. My daughter is four and I want her to enjoy the festiveness and the excitement of it all. I think its about time all this madness stopped. I hope you and your family have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year. God Bless!!

Yes, we all should be! I believe that each and everyone has the right to spend the magical holiday season whatever way they believe and leave others to do the same. No one means anything bad when they wish you a Very Merry Christmas! They wish you well, just as another doesn't mean anything bad by wishing a Happy Hanukkah!

This politically correct crap has gotten out of hand and all I can say to you is:

Please have yourself a Very Merry Christmas indeed!

absolutely. it makes me so angry. the worst thing is that its being done in the name of being sensitive to others - in reality most non-christians aren't in the least bit offended by christmas - the term or the celebration. I am not christian and i don't celebrate it. but christmas is a time for sharing and having fun for all. i have always enjoyed christmas and some years we have a full on christmas dinner others we dont. its a time when the whole country has time off to spend with their loved ones and everyone, christian or not, religious or not takes advantage of this. this kind of political correctness is at the root of so much of the community tensions we have - how can banning the term christmas make things better - why not focus on poor schools, housing, crime and make society better for all. our ridiculous politicians and law makers are making life difficult for all.

Nope it's still Christmas here in Portsmouth. Even if they said the word was banned it would still be Christmas to me. We have the Christmas lights up in the town and they all say MERRY CHRISTMAS.

well Peter...I think YOU should re-introduce the word Christmas, dont let people dictate to you how we Brits have celebrated the christmas season.....I love when all the homes have lights and decorations outside with santas climbing up the chimney etc...dont be ashamed....be determined.... to make it a happy family time like it always is and should be, why should we have to change our traditions for other people...its OUR country.

Use whatever term you want, what are they going to do throw you in jail for saying Christmas? I use Christmas and I'm not a christian, and I frankly couldn't care less what anyone says or does.
