It depends on your location and how many towers that surround you. For example I live in New York and there are much more verizon towers than cingular ones. So a verizon phone works better and gets more service versus a cingular. You have to go on there websites and check the service in your area or ask people who live in your town. Thats the best way to figure it out but I think Verizon gets good service everywhere, but just check with others first. I hope that can help.

That would depend on where you live. Some companies dont do so well in rural towns. Almost all offer some kind of a gaurentee so that you can try the phone and the service before being locked into a contract. Good luck.
