I hate getting clothes for Christmas. I'm so much heavier than everyone seems to think and they always buy things that are too small for me. It's very embarrassing and a pain because returning presents is a lot of trouble.

stuff for the kitchen. I hate getting kitchen stuff. I bothers me. If someone does get me some then I appreciate it as a thoughtful gift, but still...yuck! I know Christmas is about giving so thats all that counts, but I really like getting something for me. Even if its only 1 gift. I spend all year buying things for the apartment. my husband is usually pretty good at getting me something. Last year he got me a past, present, future neckless. I cried. best gift ever.

Hate is such a powerful term.
Christmas is about beauty and love, and giving.
Yes, there are gifts that I didn't care for, but hate the gift or person, no. They made an effort to give.
Your question should be: What do you LIKE receiving for Christmas?

I must be lucky, becase I don't really get presents I hate.
Truthfully, it really is the thought that matters, and I'm always touched if someone thought enough of me to give me a gift.
If something doesn't fit, or suit my tastes, I will still thank the giver, and know that if necessary, I can always return it at a later date.

Anything from anyone who doesn't take the time to know me well enough to choose a gift, such as coworkers.
Things I have to take back. Things I can't take back.
Coffee, because I'm very particular about my coffee and I know I'll never use what they give me.
Anything related to Christmas, again really specialized tastes.

Fake cheer from people who 11 months out of the year never speak to me. Gifts from people who feel obligated to buy you something. Cards, what do you do with a card once you've read it?

If given with feeling, then I guess I appreciate the gesture of all gifts, however.....
I can do very nicely without any more "gift packs" of foul smelling talc and aftershave lotion that makes cats run away.
