Of course you do...

Everyone knows that underneath a cynic lies a troubled romantic...

The cynic is just a part of their shield for the external world.

I tend to think that there is pretty much this polar gradation between optimism and cynicism and we all fall somewhere in between. It's probably a bit of a float (in a half empty or half full vessel) for us given the circumstances of the moment being that a tide like disappointment or a tide love, but overall we sit on one side of the scale or the other.

So to answer your question...a temporary cynic in a love lost tide, maybe...but most cynics are cynical all their life. They expect too much of an unfair world, and act like an angry grizzly whining on and on about it because life lacks justice. They fail to see the joy.

So be it. That's how they see the world--through gray tinted foster grants. (Fortunately for me, my glasses are rose colored. Nothing wrong with that.)

Good point.. if you extend romance to any fanciful based idea not based on reality. It could be romantic thoughts about how a work place should be run, or how certain relationships could be managed.

I think you just might find a disappointed romantic as you asked :)

Yes, a cynic is a person who never found happiness in his relationship with the opposite sex. Otherwise, how does one know that romance is non-existent? A person should seek something first before saying that it does not exist....

No, you find a cynic who is angry at being scratched. I should know.

I'm sure of it.
A cynic isn't born, life's experiences make them that way.

Everytime. That's why they hate me. I am always running around scratching grumpy guys for fun.

I think you might be on to something. I hadn't thought of it like that before, but it's entirely possible.

Never thought about it that way...but you are very possibly correct on that one.
