This is not true at all. There are two MAIN supermarkets located in the Hammamet region (one in Hammamet, the other 2 within a 5-10 minute drive away in Nabeul). They are Magasin General and Monoprix. Both sell alcoholic beverages and beer. Here is the info for the them (BTW, there are 2 Monoprix in Nabeul):

Magasin General
1 Av de la République
8050 Hammamet
TUNISIA
tel: +216.72.28.09.03
fax: +216.72.28.09.18

Monoprix
Av Habib Bourguiba
8000 Nabeul
TUNISIA
tel: +216.72.23.60.86
fax: +216.72.23.60.69

Monoprix
Av Hedi Chaker
8000 Nabeul
TUNISIA
tel: +216.72.28.75.95
fax: +216.28.75.95 (same number for both phone and fax)

There are also a bunch of other little markets that cater to tourists and you can find whatever you could want in those as well.

If I can be of any more help, please feel free to contact me.

There are supermarkets and you can find any kind of alcohol. It is a beautiful place. I was there last summer for holiday and planning to visit next year too. People are very friendly, salesmen are little bit touchy but that was fine. By the way the beer is fantastic, you should try.

Come on! there is!
well.. depends on your definition of Supermarket. Those are not like Europeens supermarkets but a Lot smaller. You can supply consumption goods all you want and take it to your hotel like all cheap tourists do. Regrettably, Tunis is still destination for cheap europeens :(
still... there is alcool beverages but only local beer and local red and white wine. I don't remember seeing scotch, Vodka or Champagne. You need to get that at hotel bars and night clubs in the city. And that costs a lot for you to afford. Like more than 100€ the bottle.

No it is NOT true. There are shops and supermarkets in Hammamet and you can find anything a tourist might need or like. Hammamet is a tourism oriented town.
