My girlfriend and I have been going steady for over five years (we started dating when I was a senior in high school). She moved with me to South Carolina and we both know that we are right for each other. I would never cheat on her because I love her so much and was raised with morals; she would never cheat on me because she is also Christian and I give her everything she needs - and then some. We have a great sex life (7-10 times a week) and being in our early 20s, the next logical step is for me to propose and make her my wife.

I am planning to propose to her on New Year's. I have thought of some ideas myself, but am asking to see if you all have any ideas to offer that would make the moment even more special.

Ask her if she's made a New Year's resolution. She'll rattle off some things, then will ask you what you resolve to do. Tell her that you resolve to be a faithful and loving husband; you resolve to honor and respect your wife; Just tell her you resolve to do all the things you would do if the two of you were married; it could be a combination of the serious and the silly (I resolve to grow old with you, I resolve to always put the seat back down...) then tell her that you need help keeping your resolutions, but not just this year, but for a lifetime- then ask her if she'll help you.

Since you are both Christians maybe you could find a church new years celebration...and tell her that you are starting a new year and what better way than to start a new life with the most wonderful girl in the world...and ask her to marry you (on one knee of course! LOL) It does not need to be anything grandiose or big. I think your heart and words as well as a ring and flowers and a nice meal beforehand are best. You are starting a life together and you picked a great day to do it! Good luck to you both and God bless!

I thought that Christians are supposed to save sex for marriage? lol.
Firstly, congratulations to you. i personnaly do not have any ideas. But i think that the may fact that you are going to do it on New Years day is wonderful enough. I have one, when the clock strikes midnight, have a stream of fire works asking her to marry you. My friend that that for his gf but it wasn't New Years day. It was Independence Day.
Good luck.

Buy a bottle of champagne and pop the cork. Buy party favors that can be popped. Buy a can of pop, a bag of popcorn. Make the whole theme "pop." Then pop the question
