I like the expensive & rich look of single color lights on a tree if it is done properly, but for the most part I prefer multi-colored lights.

It depends on a person's likes or dislikes.....There's no right nor wrong answer.....Multi colored lights on a tree gives a merry feeling, it also lends it a happy look , while a select color gives an orderly and uncluttered look. On the other hand, white lights make the tree look neat and brighter....

I find that the most elegant and peaceful trees are all white lights. If you have kids or want something flashy go for multi-colored lights, they are bright and fun. If you are going to select just one color, make sure it is one you like...I think blue is pretty and red is fun.

I like multi coloured lights on my tree. It makes me happy to see all those pretty colours reflected on the wall. I don't "theme" my tree either as I have things that have been in my family since the 1940's.
I've been using a tree net for the last couple of years instead of lights on a strand. Much easier as it wraps around the tree and stays put.

Definitely multi-colored with some bubble lights as well. Mono-color or white trees are much too formal and not much fun.

Either one solid color or white. Multi-color loks tacky. If it's a color you're looking for, I prefer blue. You could also theme your tree. White lights with a two-color scheme (like blue and silver) looks great.

I put 1 long strand of multi and about 4 times that many in white....it gives a great effect with just a hint of color. I've done them all and I prefer this...looks elegant.
